Your computer may have more than one network adapter. It is important to identify the correct adpater.
For an Windows computer running Windows XP:
- Click the "Start" Button.
- Click and click "Run"
- Type "cmd" then enter (A black console window will appear)
- Type "ipconfig /all"
- A bunch of stuff will display. Make th ewindow larger to see all of it.
- Look for "Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection:"
- The MAC address are the series of numbers next to "Physical Address" (Click the picture Below to see an example.)
For an Apple computer running OS 10.x:
- Click "Sytem Preferences" From the Apple menu
- Click "Network"
- Click select "Airport"
- Click "advanced" in the lower left corner.
- Click "Ethernet"
- The MAC Address is the "Ethernet ID"
